Herndon Huskey Obituary
He was born September 2, 1933 in Cleveland County to the late Hal and Anna Nance Huskey.
Herndon graduated from Camp High School and enlisted in the United States Army and served during the Korean War.
He settled in Washington, D.C., where he was a maintenance supervisor with the City of Washington. He returned to Shelby in 1993. He was a member of Shoal Creek Baptist Church. Herndon enjoyed fishing, gardening, playing checkers and socializing.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Huskey; one son, Dennis Huskey; two brothers, Joey Huskey and Floyd "Boot" Huskey; and two sisters, Lula Huskey and Viola Huskey.
He is survived by two sisters, Cheryl Huskey and Carol Huskey both of Shelby; four grandchildren; a daughter-in-law, Shelly Huskey of Joppa, Md.; five aunts, Velma Nance, Ella Huskey, Fannie Huskey, Betty Gean Huskey and Christina Barnes; and special friends, Jake and Selma Lockhart.
Visitation: The family will receive friends thirty minutes prior to the funeral service.
Funeral: Wednsday, June 3, 3 p.m., Shoal Creek Baptist Church
Burial: Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
