Jada Atkins Obituary
She passed away peacefully at Greenville Hospital surrounded by her family. Jada was a fourth grader at Cherrydale Elementary of Greenville where she was a model student. Despite her illness and being taught from home, she continued to excel academically. She loved music, writing, dancing, movies, and spending time with family and friends. At the young age of ten years, Jada trusted God and was a member of the children's church at Redemption World Outreach Center in Greenville.
Jada leaves to cherish her sweet memory, loving parents, Tory Atkins and Tiana Johnson; brothers, Victory and Major Atkins of Greenville; maternal grandparents, Ivin and Patricia Surratt of Shelby; paternal grandparents, Donald and Rose Pollion, of Stockbridge, Ga.; great-grandparents, John Johnson of Shelby, Carrie Surratt of Boiling Springs, Clarence and Marie Burke of Ahoskie, and James Atkins of Emporia, Va.; aunts, Jamella, Alicia, and Montrice Surratt of Shelby; uncles, Brandon, Maurice, Quinton, and Dashawn Surratt of Shelby, Todd Atkins of Indianapolis, Ind., and Trei Pollion of Stockbridge, Ga.; and great-uncles, great-aunts, and many cousins.
Jada touched the lives of all who loved and knew her, and will be greatly missed.
Funeral Service: 1 p.m. Saturday at Palmer Grove Baptist Church, Kingstown. She will lie in view from noon until the hour of the service.

Interment: Church cemetery

My heart and prayers go out to the Johnson and Atkins family. Jada you were a beautiful angel loved by many. You will be missed by us all. I find comfort in knowing that you are resting now in my fathers arms. My last visit with you you had a beautiful glow that shined over you. Not once did you complain. You kept that beautiful smile that you are well known for. Upon leaving I asked if I could have a kiss and a hug. I will never forget your gentle embrace and that smile that pierced my heart. Jada you and I started this journey together. We made to the finish line. You crossed before me and I can see you dancing,smiling and having a blessed time in heaven. I'm so sorry for your loss. I didn't have the privledge of meeting your little girl, but I know she's in heaven . I lost mine in 2005 and my only consolation has been and is my Wonderful Savior Jesus Christ. Trust Him , seek Him and He will help you. I did'nt know this baby, but I met her grandmother Patricia Surratt in a driving class at Cleveland Community College. She was in the hospital then. So sorry for you loss. God called a precious angel home. My prayers going out to you & your family at this time. She's not in pain anymore. May God bless & keep you.
