It has taken me a while to post because like so many others, I was so very shocked and very sad. Barry could have been my son because we could talk about any and everything. He was non-judgemental and a free spirit. My thoughts and prayers are with his family. Amy, thinking of you...He IS missed and I will treasure his name for me..Mama J

I would have to write a novel to list all of the wonderful special precious memories I have of growing up with Barry. How blessed I was while he was here to have been allowed to share his life. I can not think of one time in my life that I didn't enjoy time with him. I find a reason each day to think of him now and just miss him terribly. Amy, Mark, Kathy and Aunt Lynn, I don't know how you are getting through each day but I know that Barry will always be in all of our hearts and by our sides through the rest of this life. I find peace in knowing that I will without a doubt see him again one day. Until that day comes there is no doubt that I will miss him so very much as I do so now. The LSU game last week was such a reminder of him. Could not think of anything else but him. God bless you all thru this time. Love so much, Sherri Wharton Hadskey

I went to school with Barry at St. Pius. I had not seen him in years. But after reading all the entries and the article, it is his smile and big heart that I too knew and will always remember.

I am so saddened for you Amy, and for all of Barry's friends and family. It seems like just yesterday that I was working with all the Dayries and Joe, and talking to Barry when he'd stop in all the time. Its hard to believe that he and Joe are both gone now.

Unfortunately I know just how painful it is to lose your husband so suddenly and tragically, and I pray that God sees you through this and that you are able to find peace....peace that I'm still looking for.

You will remain in my thoughts and prayers.

I am deeply saddened by the devastating news of Barry's death. I worked with Barry at CenturyTel several years ago. He always made me smile and called me, "Candy Cane". My thoughts and prayers are with all of you. I know Barry is making others smile and laugh with his Heavenly Father.

I remember him as a teenager and as a young man at his Aunt Joan's house and parties. He was a happy, wholesome young man who was full of life and enjoyed living it. He will be missed, but remembered.

Anyone who had the honor of knowing Barry is sorrowful - he called on me when I worked at a local radio station & literally lit up a room when he walked in - and this was many, many years ago. I attempted to hire him many times, but he always had his own plans. As years went by, it was always fun to see his smiling face approach me and he had one terrific hug and hello. My heart hurts for his family ( his father-in-law worked with me for a brief time in TV) so I got to hear stories of his adventures and how much he loved his family.

I wish all of you comfort - if any of us find our way to Heaven, Barry will be there to greet us.

My prayers go out to his family and many friends.
