SHREVEPORT, LA - Carl Wayne Simolke of Shreveport, LA passed away Wednesday, November 22, 2006 after a hard fought battle with lung cancer. Son of Frederick "Pappy" Simolke of New Orleans and Mattie Brown of Minden. He is survived by his living wife of 49 years, Nonie Marie Kellar Simolke; two sons, Jack M. Simolke of Shreveport and Tobey M. Simolke of Minden; one daughter, Nonie Simolke-Chambers of New Orleans; his daughter-in-law, Lisa Simolke, wife of Tobey Simolke; his grandson, Carl Tance Simolke and only granddaughter, Chelsea Marie Simolke; his son-in-law, Tony Chambers, husband of Nonie Simolke-Chambers and two grandsons, Charles Eric Butler and Danny W. Butler; his sisters, Evelyn Bradley and Pauline Craig of Minden and Marie Lee-Simolke of New Orleans; his only living brother, Laverne Simolke of Chalmette; numerous nieces and nephews; David & Connie Simolke of Oklahoma, Duane Simolke of Texas; Shelda Simolke of Texas, Lori Simolke, Louie & Freida Simolke of South Mississippi, Laura Dale Simolke of South Mississippi, Pat & Henry Bonney of South Mississippi; and their respective families, Bobby Bradley of Minden, Rhonda & Charles Turner of Minden, Kay & Ronnie Rainey of Shreveport, Paula Craig of Lafayette, and a surviving Uncle Connan Brown of Minden, Gary Brown of Minden Linda Brown Tate of Minden, Denise Brown of Minden, Numerous cousins, family and friends, his co-workers from Libbey Glass, too many to list them all.

His pallbearers will be Charles Eric Butler, Danny W. Butler, Carl Tance Simolke, Louie Simolke, Jeff Taylor, Doert Jackson with alternate pallbearers being Charles Robinson, Martin Liewellen and Joe McKenzie. Honorary Pallbearer is John Tauzin and the family spokesman is Jeff Taylor.

Now he can be in peace with his mother, father and three brothers, Frank Simolke of Slidell, Louie Simolke of New Orleans and his twin, Frederick "Pete" Simolke of Minden, fishing and racing fast, old hot rods.

Funeral services for Mr. Simolke will be held at 11:30 a.m. Saturday Nov. 25 at Rose-Neath Chapel, Minden, LA. Burial will follow in the Gardens of Memory. Visitation will be at the funeral home 5 until 9 p.m. Friday. Rose-Neath Funeral Home

Simolke Family,
