Dear Evangeline and Murphy...we have never met, but I know of you both. Mike Phelan was my principal in CT (7-9)his 1st 3 yrs in East Haven, CT., and Tim was a grade or 2 behind me. In recent years we had been in contact due to Atty. Catherine Clark Dorrah who frequented your family business. Her mom and I were very close friends. Mike and I corresponded at times throughout the years. I guess he was one of those persons responsible for my going into education/administration. Those of us in CT send our prayers and deepest sympathies to you both. I am sure Tim will continue to shine down on you both. Pattie Ball Bello

God has granted Tim the peaceful rest he so richly deserves. Knowing him from his Connecticut boyhood, I loved him like a brother. A man of substance, certainly!

'Vange and Murphy,
We are so very sorry that Tim is no longer with you or with us. He was such a good guy, and the best Irish/Greek there could ever be. I shared the paper letters story with Murphy yesterday, and after we left, Bob reminded me of another -- when we discovered that Tim, Mike Page and Bob could all wiggle their ears!!
Our thoughts and prayers are with you and we wish you peace.

Evangeline,
Please accept my deepest sympathy for you and your family. Tim was always so friendly and such a nice guy.

The Final Salute

“Brothers in Arms”, Military men and women down through the centuries, have traditionally exchanged “Hand Salutes” as a sign of recognition and as a way to render courtesy and respect one to another.

This “Hand Salute” is the last that we shall render to Tim Phelan our “Brother-in-Arms”. To his family it symbolizes the love and respect that we have for Tim. And to Tim it is rendered as a symbol of honor and gratitude to thank him for the devoted and selfless service he rendered to his country during the Vietnam War while serving in the U.S. Armed Forces. Tim, we bid you a sad farewell. You will be dearly missed from among our ranks. Be at Ease. Rest in Peace.

On behalf of the 1,307 military veteran Legionnaires of Lowe-McFarlane Post 14 of the American Legion, I extend our sympathies and our condolences to Tim’s family and loved ones.
