I loved Dr. Short! I´m so sorry about her passing. She was always sweet, kind and cheerful- always. I never saw her in a bad mood. And I loved that southern twang she never lost from her Tennessee roots. I loved to listen to her talk. My sincere condolences to her family friends and colleagues

Dr. Short was my pediatrician. I still remember visiting her years after as a young man and finally sharing with her my impression of her wonderful Tennessee accent. Recalling all the times as a child I would get scolded for replying to my mother in that accent when I was told it was time to "go see Dr Short".
She was a wonderful, caring, compassionate person. She will be deeply missed, but I pray and look forward to the day we shall see one another again.
Requiem aeternam dona ei, Domine, et lux perpetua luceat ei. Requiescat in pace. Amen.

So sad to hear of her passing. She was my daughter´s doctor for years until she closed her practice in Staten Island. Such a wonderful doctor and human. May she rest in peace. So sad to read this.

I am so sorry to hear of Joan's passing. I had the pleasure of working under her direction in pediatrics at USPH service hospital on SI. She was a compassionate , intelligent & loving person. My condolences to her family.
