Christopher Hewitt Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Christopher Hewitt, son to Dennis and Georgiana (Gunn) Hewitt, deceased; brother to Dennis, Brian, and Erin; uncle to Gia and Kayla; nephew to many and cousin to dozens; loved by all.
Christopher was a life-long resident of Staten Island. He was a graduate of St. Christopher's Parochial School and Monsignor Farrell High School. After owning a Grant City bar in the early 2000s, he made a career in the food service industry at various delis and groceries on the island, eventually owning and operating his own, A&S Catering in Bull's Head. He always made sure everyone was fed, whether it was a celebration or a tragedy, he was sending food.
He was a talented artist in his youth, always sketching and painting. He loved reading, music, and movies, and was always an excellent source of good recommendations for all three. He was a life-long fan of the NY Giants, Mets, and Rangers (despite the inevitable heartbreak that came with that).
A wake will be held at Hanley Funeral Home on Tuesday, 2 pm - 4 pm and 7 pm - 9 pm. A funeral mass will be held at St. Christopher's Church on Wednesday, 10:30 am.

Chris, I still can´t believe you´re gone. I have such fond memories of you and all your friends at the Misty. As one of the bartenders there, I got to witness some of the funniest moments of my life - it felt like all we ever did was laugh.
Beyond the laughter, you were truly one of the smartest people I´ve ever met, but even more than that, you were kind, generous, and genuine. You had a way of making everyone around you feel welcome and valued.
I will always be grateful for those memories and for the time we shared. You will be deeply missed.

I´m so very sorry to hear about Chris. My condolences to the family. He was such a good man and he was a great friend. I was lucky to have known him and be friends with him. I was lucky enough to work for him and with him at Delfinis and the Misty Lounge. I´m sorry I can´t be there for the services as I live in Florida now. But I send my love and prayers. You will be missed Chris. And I´ll never forget you.

Really sorry to be reading this. Chris, Dennis, & Brian were all customers & friends back in the mid 90s at my store Krypton Comics which was on Hylan, right around the corner from where they lived when they were all kids. Chris was a cool kid, respectful and great to talk to. Rest in eternal peace.
