Mary C. George

Mary C. George (nee Delmonico), 85, passed away at her home in Jensen Beach, FL on June 2. She was a resident of Egbertville for over 50 years. She is survived by her devoted husband of 61 years Daniel, their loving daughters Cathy DiLeonardo, Serena Scotto, Joan Kotowicz, and Danielle George, as well as her beloved sons (in law) Mark, Michael, Joseph, and Bruce. She was the adoring grandmother (Nanamal) of Melissa (Austin), Emily (Jeff), Daniel (Janine), Steven, Sierra, and Kayla-Ann, and great grandmother of Beckham, Mila, and Baby Caccavale. Mary was an avid gardener who, along with her late dear friend Gail Salvatore, was a founding member of the SI Bonsai Society. She was a volunteer for several SI organizations, including the Brownie Scouts, the Jacques Marchais Tibetan Art Museum, the Greenbelt Conservancy, and with her friend Gail spearheaded the holiday decorations at St. Paul's Episcopal Church for their annual Lessons & Carols celebration. Mary was a friend to all living things, and her Nevada Avenue home was the sanctuary for all neighborhood stray cats and dogs, injured birds, racoons, rabbits, and people in need.
