William Cafferata Obituary

William James Cafferata Retired from NYC Sanitation and Postal Police William James Cafferata, born in Midland Beach, S.I., on Sept. 16, 1928, died Aug. 19, 2021. He was the devoted husband of the late Theresa Cafferata (nee Mahoney) William was a seaman on a troop ship in the Merchant Marines and also became a corporal in the U.S. Army . Corps. William spent 25 years in N.Y.C. Sanitation Department. Received Rank Of District Supt. He later then spent 12 years as Postal Police officer before retiring in 1990. William loved dogs and animals. He also enjoyed spending his time Gardening, painting as well as putting puzzles together. William was a member of Kells – Grennie Post 316, American Legion Funeral Wednesday from Virginia Funeral Chapel 350 Slosson Avenue Staten Island. Funeral Mass 10:00 am St. Ann R.C. Church. Interment Resurrection Cemetery. Visiting Tuesday 4pm to 8pm. Virginia Funeral Chapel 350 Slosson Ave. Staten Island, NY 10314 (718) 987-2828
