Erwin Torres

Erwin Torres, 23, of Saugus, CA, died in an unfortunate turn of events on Tuesday, March 4, 2008. He was involved in a fatal car accident in the City of Downey on his way to work.

Erwin was born on March 26, 1984 in Guatemala and was a graduate of Saugus High School, Class of 2003. Presently he was a student and an apprentice electrician. Erwin enjoyed snow boarding, photography, music, and being around the people that loved him most.

Erwin is survived by his mother, Gladys Gallardo; his stepfather, Nery Samayoa; his uncles, Jose and Isias Torres; his cousin, Jorge Torres; and his soul mate, Heather Linch.

Erwins friends wrote, "Erwin, or 'Wizzle' as most of us knew him, touched many and could always bring everybody together. He has always been an extremely happy person; one that will always had a goofy contagious smile strapped to his face no matter what the situation. He was a great guy that would have given the shirt off his back to anyone. He loved life and always lived it to its fullest. Being such a giving person, Erwin helped his family with finances as often as possible. This situation, as difficult as it is for many, is further complicated by the extensive burial costs. The family has been able to raise some money, but they are still quite a ways from meeting the expenses. We are doing everything in our power to raise money for them, however the target is far on the horizon. The services have already been held, and the family is still accepting donations.
