Glenn Grade Obituary

Glenn Grade died of natural causes in April 2021 at Sunrise Assisted Living in Valencia (who were absolutely amazing by the way). He was born in February 1927 in Sheboygan, Wisconsin. He had an older brother Herb and a younger sister Pat.

Glenn spent his early years growing up in Wisconsin, and after high school he joined the Navy working in the medic program and was stationed in Seattle, Washington. He loved the west coast so he brought his parents out and settled in North Hollywood. Glenn attended USC on the G.I. Bill. He learned the insurance business and became a partner in his agency.

Glenn began attending Saint Paul's Lutheran Church in North Hollywood in 1949. Shortly after, he met the love of his life Dorothy Brinkmeyer. They were married in 1951, beginning a beautiful 69 year marriage! Dorothy and Glenn were blessed with two sons, Brian and Cameron.

After living in the San Fernando Valley for 20 years, Glenn relocated his family to SCV in 1970 where he and Dorothy resided in the same house in Valencia Hills for 50 years.

Glenn's main loves in his life were Jesus, family, and volunteering. He worked tirelessly at Saint Paul's church and school and was a fixture in the choir. Between Kiwanis, the senior center, and the homeless shelter he served the needs of Santa Clarita for decades.

He is survived by his sons and their families. Dorothy passed away last year. Their marriage was a true success based on shared faith and principles, perhaps a "blueprint" for all of us.

He is dearly missed but we rejoice that he performed the Lord's work, expressed his Christian faith daily, and now is reunited with Dorothy, his family, and his Lord and Savior.
Memorial services were held at St. Paul's church on May 15, 2021.
