Herb Bernstein Obituary

Herb Bernstein
August 6, 1933 - May 5, 2025
Herb Bernstein, of Newhall, CA passed away peacefully at home on Monday, May 5, 2025, at the age of 91. Herb was born in Portchester, NY on August 6, 1933.
In 1955 he married his late wife, Valerie Earnest, in California. Herb and his wife moved back to New York so they could save money and returned to California several years later to start a family and put down roots. Herb dedicated his life to his family and hard work. He retired as a machinist at the age of 55, having built a reputation for precision and dedication throughout his career. Herb was a devoted husband to the late Val Bernstein and a loving father to his three sons, Donald, Edward, and Rlobert.
Herb loved experiencing other cultures and traveling the world with his late wife. This included multiple home exchanges with families on various continents, family road trips and many cruises. He had a generous heart and donated to many charities.
He will be remembered for his quiet strength, sense of humor, and unwavering love for his family. He is survived by his sons: Donald Bernstein, Edward Bernstein (Marlene) and Robert Bernstein (Lisa); 4 grandchildren: Daniel, Joshua, Jeffrey and Miles Bernstein.
The family will hold a private Celebration of Life. Donations in Herb's memory can be made to Israel Cancer Research Fund (ICRF) (https://www.icrfonline.org/donate).
