John Phippen Obituary
Father, best-friend, business owner, weekend warrior and one stubborn Irishman that got called home too soon~ John Joseph Phippen passed away on Monday, October 2, 2017. John was born on October 25, 1960 in Hempstead, NY but moved to Southern California when he was 9. He attended Taft High School and the L.A. Trade College, ultimately making his home in Santa Clarita.
After building his own business, John enjoyed traveling with his family to the sand dunes of Glamis, piloting a pontoon boat on Lake Havasu, and 4-wheeling the hills of Southern California.
John could fix and/or build anything and his business, JP Specialties, was well known in the Santa Clarita Valley and surrounding areas for doing just that. Because of his trade and friendly personality, John was a stranger to no man and was known to enjoy the company of his friends, family and the friendly passerby.
John was a very loving man who is survived by his mother Katherine; children Luke, Amanda, Nathan, Travis, Carina and Aliyah; grandchildren Keira and Andrew; brother Robert, sister Debra, brother William (Julia) and other family, friends, and co-workers. His kindness touched people day-in and day-out and he will be dearly missed forever.
A rosary will be held at 9:30 a.m. on Friday, November 3, 2017 at Saint Kateri Tekakwitha Catholic Church, 22508 Copper Hill Dr, Santa Clarita, CA 91350, followed by a funeral mass and celebration of his life. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the American Red Cross (www.redcross.org/).

My deepest sympathies. My dad passed away unexpectedly when I was 14 years old, so I know something of how it must feel for his children. Blessings to you all.
