Thomas H. 'Tom' Porsch

Thomas H. "Tom" Porsch, 84 of Sioux City, passed away on Monday, May 9, 2022, at a hospital in Omaha.
Services will be at 10 a.m. today at Wesley United Methodist Church with Reverend Todd Schlitter officiating. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery. Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel is assisting the family. Online condolences may be offered to the family at www.meyerbroschapels.com.
Tom was born on Feb. 14, 1938, in Sioux City to Lloyd and Clara (Hull) Porsch. He received his education in the Sioux City Public Schools, graduating from Leeds High School with the Class of 1956. He joined the Air National Guard immediately following school and served for six years. Tom worked for Sioux City Iron for 16 years before joining the crew at Mullin's Awning and Siding as a salesman. He married Bonnie Ives on May 12, 1957, at Wesley United Methodist Church in Sioux City; to this union two boys were born, Randy and Bradley. Tom worked at Mullin's for 20 years before stepping out to own his own siding company, Porsch Siding, which he operated for 15 years.
Tom sponsored several Little League teams, along with being a coach. He enjoyed fishing, camping, boating, snowmobiling, gardening, and watching the Hawkeyes and Green Bay Packers. He and Bonnie wintered in Mesa, Ariz., for 21 years, and spent almost 30 years enjoying summers in Spirit Lake and Okoboji. Tom was an active member of the Sioux City Business Leaders Breakfast Club for 20 years, and was a lifetime member of Wesley United Methodist Church.
Tom is survived by his wife Bonnie of Sioux City; son Randy (Lisa) Porsch of Sioux City; grandsons Chad (Alicia) Porsch of Spearfish, S.D., and Eric (Alicia) Porsch of Sioux City; and seven great-grandchildren.
Tom was preceded in death by his parents; son Brad in 1981; and brother Darrell Porsch.
Memorials may be offered to Wesley United Methodist Church.
