Calvin Means
SPRINGFIELD - Calvin Means, 86 of Springfield, IL departed this life on Monday, July 16, 2012 at Heritage Health. Mr. Means known as "Uncle" was born on January 13, 1926 in Marianna, Ark., the son of James and Fearo Means. He worked as a factory worker for many years. Mr. Means attended Progressive Church of God in Christ.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Fearo Means; his two children, son, Sylvester Means and daughter, Quill Della Ficklen; brother, James Means, Jr.; sister, Estella Redding.
He leaves to cherish his memory: 10 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, his niece and nephew Alice (Robert) Medley, and a host of great nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Funeral services will be on Monday, July 23, 2012 at Progressive Church of God in Christ, 1625 East Ash, Springfield, IL 62703 with Pastor R.G. Medley, Sr., Officiating. Visitation: 10:00 am-11:00 am; Services: 11:00 am-12:00 pm. Interment at Oak Ridge Cemetery.

Never got the opportunity to meet Mr.Means, however his love for his family is expressed daily through his granddaughter. My wife Janice Means-White..RIP "Uncle"..
