Carlo Catalano Obituary
Springfield, IL—Carlo Catalano, 91, of Springfield, passed away on Saturday, December 5, 2020 at his home. He was born on May 5, 1929 to Salvatore and Marie Folisie Catalano. He married Genoveva Peredo and she survives.
Other survivors include three children, Lisa (Jeff) Catalano-Bechtel, Carlo S. (Janice) Catalano, and Michael (Patricia) Catalano, all of Springfield; five grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren; one brother, Louis Catalano of Springfield; and several nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Vince and Joseph Catalano; and two sisters, Mary Nolan and Josie Petcher.
Carlo was a lifelong resident of Springfield. He honorably served in the United States Army from 1948-1952. He worked for CWLP for many years. He also owned, managed and was the head mechanic at Carlo's Auto Sales for forty-five years. Carlo was a lifelong member of St. Katharine Drexel Parish and the VFW 755.
Funeral Mass: 9:30 AM, Friday, December 11, 2020 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with burial to follow at Camp Butler National Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Katharine Drexel Parish.
CDC Protocol shall be followed.

Carlo was one of the first people I met when coming to Springfield in 1978. Since then he has been a true friend and has helped me many times. He will be greatly missed.
