Doris Ball Obituary
Springfield, IL—Doris M. Ball, 75, of Springfield died at 9:40 am, Friday, February 15, 2019 at her home. She was born May 1, 1943 in Springfield to Helene McCall Wilson. She married Daniel Brian Ball on June 21, 1979 and he preceded her in death on November 25, 2002.
Also preceding her in death are her mother and one granddaughter, Sophie Maddox.
Survivors include five daughters, Julie Altig (Nino Campo) of Springfield, Lisa(Chris) Kerr of Chatham, Diane (Don) Dow of Mattoon, Suzanne (Todd) Maddox of Girard, and Jessica Ball of Litchfield; seven grandchildren, Kristine (Kurtis) Wujek, Eric Kerr (Fiancé Courtney Rayhill), Cassi Dow, Dani Maddox, Ozzie Maddox, Nino (Shauna) Campo, and Tyler (Jill) Campo; six great-grandchildren, Bella, Giada, Luca, Armie, Anthony, and Elyse.
Doris was a former resident of Chatham, IL where she worked, as a secretary, for Ball Chatham School District until her retirement in 2005, after 15 years of service.
She was a member of the '61 SHS Reunion Committee and a volunteer with St. John's Samaritan. She enjoyed sewing, eating out with her friends, and spending time with her grandchildren and family.
Visitation: 4-7 pm, Thursday, February 21, 2019 at Staab Funeral Home- Springfield.
Funeral Service: 10 am, Friday, February 22, 2019 at Staab Funeral Home-Springfield with Cindy Lash officiating.
She will be laid to rest at Camp Butler National Cemetery.
Memorial Contributions may be made to the American Heart Association.

So sorry to hear of your Mom's passing, Suzanne! I first officially met her at Stacey Bolin's Kickin' Cancer Benefit. She and I talked for quite a while and I really enjoyed her company that day. She was a lot of fun and very very proud of her family!
