James V. Fulginiti
SPRINGFIELD, IL - James "Jim" V. Fulginiti, 76, died at 2:11 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 27, 2014, at his residence in Springfield after a valiant battle with cancer.
He was born Nov. 7, 1937, in Conshohocken, Pa., to Francis and Elizabeth Moore Fulginiti. He married Sharon Murray on May 27, 1978, and she survives.
Also surviving are four daughters: Brianna Fulginiti and Kate (Jim) Beatty both of Jacksonville, Fla., Lisa (Jeff) Laird of Spring, Texas and Cheri Fulginiti (Fran Arrington) of Cumming, Ga.; two sons, Michael (Andrea) Fulginiti of Aston, Pa., and Jim (Cheryl) Fulginiti of Downingtown, Pa.; eight grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; one brother, Peter Fulginiti of Prospect Park, Pa.; aunt and uncle, Rose and Jim Fulginiti of Ridge Manor, Fla.; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Jim was an avid sports fan especially loving college athletics and the Pittsburgh Steelers. But more than anything, Jim enjoyed spending time with his family and watching his own children's sporting events. He also loved spending time with his faithful dog, Zia.
He was proprietor of the Colonial Men's Clothing Shop in Prospect Park, Pa. He then began working for Lerner clothing stores as a District Manager and became director of store operations on the west coast. Jim then owned and operated Public Image Clothing Stores in Southern California. During his retirement he and his family relocated to Springfield where he began FINO Lawn Care and in latter years spent quality time at ZARA's Collision Center.
Memorial Gathering: 5-7 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 2, 2014, at Staab Funeral Home with an additional gathering from 9:30-10 a.m., Friday, Oct. 3, 2014, at St. John Vianney.
Memorial Mass: 10 a.m., Friday, Oct. 3, 2014, at St. John Vianney with Msgr. David Lantz officiating.
Burial will be at a later date at Saints Peter and Paul Cemetery in Springfield, Pa.
Memorial contributions may be made to: ALS Foundation or the Wounded Warrior Project.
