James Edward Turner Sr.
SPRINGFIELD, IL - James Edward Turner Sr., 62, of Springfield, departed this life Thursday, Sept. 25, 2014, at Capitol Care Center.
James was born Sept. 5, 1952, in Marks, Miss.
He was preceded in death by James Streeter and Lula Mae Conley (parents) and Frederick Turner (son).
He leaves to cherish his loving memories: his wife, Shirley J. Turner; children, Major James Turner Jr. (Deatrice) and Lillie Strickland; and four stepchildren.
Services will be Thursday, Oct. 2, 2014, at Holy City M.B Church, 1601 E. Carpenter St., Springfield, IL 62703. Visitation will be held at 10:30 a.m. followed by service at 11 a.m. Pastor Barrie West will officiate. Interment is at Camp Butler National Cemetery.
Services are entrusted to Walker Funeral Services of Springfield.

I light this candle for you uncle James to let you know that you are always in my heart and the light in my eyes. The times we shared together here on this earth good or bad will never be forgotten because it taught me to be a better man. I remember you telling me instead of shedding tears for you I should smile with you and for that very reason I stay smiling cause I know your smiling now. LOVE YOU ALWAYS WE WILL MISS YOU
