A. Wheatley
SPRINGFIELD - Jervenus A. Wheatley, 53, of Springfield, passed away December 12, 2012 at 7:08 p.m. at Memorial Medical Center.
She was born on June 4, 1959 to Milton and Jewonia McDouglas Fitzgerald, Jr. in Springfield. She was married to Carroll A. Wheatley, Jr. and they bore one child during the marriage.
Jervenus graduated the Ra-Vogue College of Design in Chicago with a degree in Fashion Merchandising. She then was employed as a Fashion Merchandiser and Manager for several stores in Hollywood, CA. Once she returned home she became a member of Progressive Church of God in Christ and was a member of the Christian Womens Council and held the office of Treasurer.
Preceding her in death, Grandparents, James McDougal and Rita Adams, Milton and Carrie Fitzgerald; one brother, Mario A. Fitzgerald.
Leaving to cherish her memory, Mother, Jewonia Fitzgerald of Springfield, Father, Milton F. Fitzgerald, Jr. of Champaign; one son, Carroll A. Wheatley, III of Fullerton, CA; three brothers, Milton F. Fitzgerald, III of Springfield, Michael A.F. Fitzgerald and Robert Johnson both of Springfield; two sisters, Tony McCrary (husband, Preston, Jr.) of Washington, D.C. and Glinda Holman of Springfield; several Aunts and Uncles and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation will be on December 19, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at Union Baptist Church with the service to follow at 12:00 p.m. with the Rev. Robert Medley officiating. Burial will be at Oak Hill Cemetery. W.W. White Memorial Chapel is in charge arrangements. You may sign the online register book at www.legacy.com/obituaries/sj-r.

I cheered with Jervenus at Lanphier. In fact, we shared a dorm room when we went to cheer camp at Western. I remember her beautiful smile and sweet personality. My condolences to her family.
