Joseph Muhs Obituary

Joseph Anthony "Joey" Muhs 2006 - 2016
OLNEY, IL - Joseph Anthony "Joey" Muhs, 10, of Olney, died Saturday, July 30, 2016, in Eaton, Ohio.
He was born in Vincennes, Ind., on Feb. 28, 2006, to Daniel Ray Muhs and Diane Marie Szabo.
He is survived by his parents, Dan and Diane Muhs of Olney; grandparents, Urban and Marilyn Muhs of Olney; great-grandmother, Ruth Nettleton of Olney; aunt and uncle, Bob Sharp and Angie Muhs Sharp, and cousins, Andrew and Rebecca Sharp, all of Springfield; and many loving cousins and friends.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Joseph and Patricia Szabo; and uncle, Mark Szabo.
Joey Muhs was a friendly soul who loved nothing more than meeting new people. Joey was a caring pet owner, always reassuring the pets that they were all his favorites. He was a passionate Minecraft player, Lego collector and Pokemon catcher.
Joey wanted to be a soldier when he grew up, but he was so tenderhearted he figured an army medic might be the best choice.
Joey was a history lover and adored reading about the American Civil War and World War II. He made friends with some WWII re-enactors and was over-the-moon to be able to ride in their tanks and personnel carriers.
Joey loved to fish but preferred catch and release so the fish didn't die.
He loved reading and science but couldn't spell.
Joey was a Cub Scout in Pack 211.
He especially loved motorcycle rides and thought his dad's Ural was the coolest bike in town.
As much as he will be missed, we have the consolation that Joey's presence made the world a better place.
