PAWNEE - Mae Nevada Oglebay, 78, of Pawnee, formerly of Springfield, died Sunday, Nov. 11, 2007, at her residence.
She was born May 21, 1929, in Tamalco, the daughter of John and Elizabeth Brook. She married Ernest J. Oglebay on Oct. 26, 1952, in Springfield; he preceded her in death in 1975. Mae was also preceded in death by an infant daughter, Carol Sue, in 1964 and a son, Robert A., in 1996.
Mae was of the Protestant faith. She had worked at Steak n Shake and St. John's Hospital in Springfield.
Survivors include three daughters, Mae J. Hirano and Dorothy A. (husband, Hallie) Whitehead, both of Springfield, and Mary A. (husband, Joe) Spain of Pawnee; two sons, Ernest R. (wife, Deanna) Oglebay of Springfield and Jimmy L. Oglebay of Philadelphia; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; a brother, John H. Brooks of Springfield; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
The family will meet friends from 4 to 7 p.m., Thursday, Nov. 15, 2007, at Curry Funeral Home in Pawnee. Funeral service will be at 12:30 p.m., Friday, Nov. 16, 2007, at Curry Funeral Home. The Rev. Floyd Ledman will officiate. Burial will be at Camp Butler National Cemetery.

I wish I could have made it to my mothers Funeral but i could not. Rest in peace mother you are now with dad and your son robert and the rest of the family. I love you mother and you will be missed.

I would like to extend my sympathy to the family. I used to go to school with Mae's daughter Mae but have lost contact with her. I also knew her son when he was in service they were a wonderful family
