Margaret "Peggy" M. Tregoning 1945 - 2019
Springfield, IL—Margaret "Peggy" M. Tregoning, 73 of Springfield, died at 9:02 am, Tuesday, January 8, 2019 at Memorial Medical Center. She was born December 21, 1945 in Springfield, to William and Margaret Rose McConnell Barrett. She married George Tregoning on January 7, 1977 and he preceded her in death on December 11, 2015.
Survivors include one daughter, Bridget (Kenny) Boggs of Springfield; one son, William "Bill" (Dawn) Shelton of Bloomington; three grandchildren, Bryce Shelton, Victoria Boggs and Devon Boggs; one great grandchild, Carter Wright; two brothers, Patrick (Marilyn) Barrett of Taylorville and Denny (Mary Jo) Barrett of Brunswick, ME and many nieces, nephews and cousins and several great nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband and five brothers, Jack, Jim, Larry, Donald and Butch Barrett.
Peggy was a member of St. Cabrini Church in Springfield and St. James in Riverton and served as a lay associate in the Springfield Diocese.
She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary Knights of Columbus in Riverton. She loved BINGO and was a very devoted Bears and Notre Dame Fan.
She retired from the State of Illinois in 2002 and later worked as a Certified Nurses Aid at the Franciscan Motherhouse in Springfield.
Visitation: 4-7 pm, Monday, January 14, 2019 at Staab Funeral Home – Springfield, with a prayer service at 4 pm.
Funeral Mass: 10 am, Tuesday, January 15, 2019 at St. Cabrini Church with Reverend Kevin Mann officiating.
Private burial will be held at Camp Butler National Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Real Life Church Food Pantry.

Know that Peggy will be remembered by all who knew her. Her contagious smile, warm heart and love for everyone is what made her so very special. She was a dear friend that I have many memories of the times we shared.
