Had the pleasure of working with Mike during many activations of the State Emergency Operations Center. Didn't matter what time or day of the week, Mike always had a smile and would do what ever was asked of him. In 2015, my daughter called after receiving a toll way fine from Texas. She asked how to address it because she or her car had never been to Texas. I said that I knew a man that could help. Called Mike and talked to him about it. Mike said let's call Texas right now and get this cleared up. Didn't say give me a minute or call me back tomorrow. That was my friend. Within 15 minutes of Mike talking to them, the fine was removed and the correct vehicle was identified. Mike was one of a kind. He always represented himself, his family and the Secretary of State PD in the highest possible regard.

Dear Sue, Chris, Corrie and all of Mike's Family,
I am so saddened to read of Mike's passing. I hired Mike and, I believe, Jay, to work at Illinois Bell. Later in our careers, I had the pleasure of working along with Mike in the Building Maintenance Department. He often spoke of you, Sue, Corrie and Chris, always with so much love, pride and admiration. I know you will miss him every day as will many others. You are in my thoughts and prayers.
I loved taking pictures and would like to share one where we were having a group luncheon with co workers back in the 80's.

Sue and family,
You have my heartfelt condolences in Mike's passing. Although I had an opportunity to sit down and visit with Mike a few months ago, my fondest memories go back over 30 years ago. His dedication and loyalty to work and friends was exemplary. But more importantly, he knew how to make people laugh. He was a joy to be around.

Heartfelt condolences to his family. Michael was truly one-of-a-kind, and I will miss his stories and humor. I know he suffered much these last few years, and without Sue's loving care, he surely wouldn't have endured as long as he did. God bless his family, and may he finally rest in peace.
