Dale Tapscott
EDINBURG - Michael Dale Tapscott, 56, of Edinburg, passed away on Monday, March 12, 2012 at the Trinity Regional Health System in the Quad Cities. He was born on July 6, 1955 in Liberty, KY the son of George and Nettie McFarland Tapscott. Mike married Cindy Hester in 1982 at Pleasant Plains. He served in the U.S. Army and was owner/operator of Mike Tapscott Trucking.
Preceded in death by his two brothers, George and Dave Tapscott. He is survived by his wife, Cindy, of Edinburg; three daughters: Melissa Lucas (William) of Marion, Tamara Tapscott and Rebecca Schriver (Bryan) both of Edinburg; two sons, David Tapscott and Benjamin Tapscott both of Edinburg; a great nephew, Jameson Monts of Edinburg; ten grandchildren; one great-grandchild, Jordan Lucas, of Marion; sisters: Marsha Dempke of Middletown, Ohio, Pamela Swenson (Ed) and Betty Tapscott both of Santa Barbara, CA; two brothers, Kenneth Tapscott (Wanda) of Pleasant Plains, Robert Harvey (Cathy) of Petersburg, nieces and nephews. Visitation will be on Friday, March 16th from 3:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. at the Wilson Park Funeral Home in Edinburg. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. on Saturday at the funeral home with Reverend Craig Scott officiating. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association or the Mike Tapscott Scholarship Fund for graduating seniors in the Edinburg High School. Wilson Park Funeral Home, Edinburg is in charge of arrangements.

So sorry to hear of Mike's passing. It has been several years since I llast saw him but still consider him a friend. Mike stood up with me at my first wedding. I am certain he will be sadly missed by family and friends alike.

My prayers and condolences to the Tapscott family. I first met Mike thru business but it was not long before I considered him more a friend than business acquaintance.
