Patsy Jean
Godfrey
Patsy Jean Godfrey (nee Adams) born in Huntington, WV, December 27, 1938, daughter of Clara Bell Adams Fudge and William George Adams (both deceased).
Patsy came to Springfield in 1960 with her husband, James Wallace Godfrey, Sr., who preceded her in death in 1994. Estel Ray Blevins, son and J.R. Sanford, grandson, also preceded her in death.
Patsy is survived by 3 daughters; Teresa Godfrey and Sherri Boggs of Springfield, Deborah Trepanier of Edinburg; one son, James W. Godfrey, Jr., of Rochester.
Grandchildren include; Crystal and Terah Mosley; Mitchell and Amber Godfrey; Amanda Spencer; Micheal and William Hill; Alora, Keelin and Noah Godfrey; Dustin and Brandi Hemphill; Bethany Manley; and 19 great-grandchildren.
Patsy requested that her body be donated to medical science. A small service and celebration of life will be held on Thursday, May 5, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at the Rochester Christian Church with David Upchurch officiating. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or the American Diabetes Society. Wilson Park Funeral Home of Rochester is serving the family.
