Ronald E. "Ronnie Gene" Spencer, Jr. 1957 - 2018
Springfield, IL—Ronald E. "Ronnie Gene" Spencer, Jr., 60, of Springfield, died at 6:55 a.m. on Tuesday, June 5, 2018 at Memorial Medical Center.
Ron was born November 5, 1957 in Springfield, the son of Ernest and Wanda Ayers and Ronald Sr. and Donna Spencer. He married Beckie Chastain on May 25, 2001 in Niagara Falls, NY.
Ron was employed by Doyle Plumbing & Heating in Jacksonville. He was a member of Local #137 Plumbers and Pipefitters Union. Ron enjoyed spending time with his family and grandchildren. He also enjoyed working in the yard, gambling, and making people laugh. Ron and Beckie had a true love story, and he swept her off her feet with the sparkle in his eyes.
He was preceded in death by his previous two wives, Carolyn Vancil Spencer and Lisa Elledge Spencer.
He is survived by his wife, Beckie Spencer of Springfield; sons, Brian (wife, Janelle) Spencer of Chatham, Jason (wife, Rachael) Spencer of Glenarm, and Shawn (wife, Stefani) Spencer of Pawnee; daughters, Rachel King of Springfield, Angela (wife, Janae) Miller of Springfield, and Tammara (husband, Jason) Weilgus of Palatine; grandchildren, Shelby Carolyn, Abigail Lynn, Jenna Renea, Devin Rachelle, Hannah Lynn, Owen Ralph, Autumn Lynn, Savannah Lillian Grace, and Sawyer Ryan; parents, Ernest and Wanda Ayers; sister, Debra (husband, Michael) Myers; brothers, Gary Ayers, Jerry Ayers, Ernie Ayers, Jr., Kevin Spencer, and Kent Spencer; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews.
Visitation: Family will receive friends from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 7, 2018 at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th St., Springfield.
Funeral Ceremony: 11:00 a.m. on Friday, June 8, 2018 at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home with Pastor Craig Sweet officiating.
Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park.

It's been a long time since I've seen Ronnie but I've known him all my life. My parents' Clyde and Carol Bull were good friends with his and I spent many of weekends at their home back in the day. My condolences to his wife, children, parents and siblings.
