Ruth Baird Obituary
VIRDEN, IL - Ruth Y. Baird, 87, of Virden, IL, passed away peacefully at Sunrise Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Virden on Sunday, November 6, 2016, following a short illness.
Visitation will be from 5:00-8:00 P.M. Wednesday, November 9, 2016 at the Calvert & Ferry Funeral Home in Virden, IL. Funeral Service will be at 10:00 A.M. Thursday, November 10, 2016 also at the funeral home with Rev. Mary Alice Cunningham and Rev. Chuck Kurfman officiating. Memorials may be made to The Thayer United Methodist Church. Interment will be in the West Cemetery, Thayer, IL.

I agreee with Mike and Darla, she was as sweet as they come. We were in the same Virden High School class of 46 together.
She married my long time friend Scotty Baird and they had a great life together.She did have some sadness in her life when she lost a daughter in an accident and when Scotty got cancer and she did then suffer from her own illness. Through all of that she was very brave. I will miss her. I want to offer condolences to her family.

John & Family--Your family's roots run deep. You are loved, respected & admired..so a good many hearts are mourning with you now. Your dear mother was as sweet as they come. Ruth was sincere & gracious every time we crossed paths & visited.She will be missed.
