Virgil L. Varner
CHATHAM - Virgil L. Varner, 81 of Chatham died Wednesday June 6, 2012 at St. John's Hospital.
He was born October 2, 1930 in Detroit, Michigan to Loy E. and Naomi C.(Garst) Varner.
He spent most of his career in sales and retired as a landlord.
Virgil married Judy (Johnson) Piersall in April of 2000 in Redington Beach, Florida.
She survives along with a daughter Rhonda (Mike) Smartjesse of Momence and step children, Andrea (John) Ware of San Antonio, TX, Brett (Kandi) Weakly of Virden, Mary Piersall of Miami, FL, Matthew Piersall of Springfield and a brother Gerald Varner and sister Darline Maser, both of Springfield.
Funeral Services will be Sunday at 2:00 p.m. at the Chatham Presbyterian Church with visitation Saturday from 5 to 7 p.m. at the church. Burial will be at Macoupin Creek Cemetery in rural Farmersville.
Arrangements by Stiehl-Dawson Funeral Home, Nokomis.
