William Charles Barto 1947 - 2020
Coffeen, IL—William "Bill" Charles Barto 73 of Coffeen passed away December 14, 2020 at Missouri Baptist Medical Center in St. Louis.
He was born on August 2, 1947 in Carlinville IL, the son of Elmer Paul and Alberta M. Greenfield Barto.
Bill served in the US Army 91b all wheeled Vehicle Mechanic Division during Viet Nam.
He was a graduate of Lincolnwood High School was a Truck Driver most of his life. He enjoyed the outdoors including riding horses and loved his family.
He married Renda Kaye Hicks and later divorced, He married Tammy L. Hankins and she survives.
He is also survived by Mary (Michael) Lynn of Marion, Serena Barto of Golconda, Marenda Kaye (Eric) Cota of Litchfield, Lacy L. (Brennen Smith) Barto of Coffeen and John Pass of Litchfield, and Grandchildren Dakota and Rylie Fletcher, Matthew and David Lynn, Derek Jett, Alexis and Jacob Cota, Braelynn Smith and Austin Pass and one great granddaughter Addison Whitlock.
He is survived by his sister Paula Miller
Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his brothers Joseph L "Joe" Barto and Paul Roger Barto.
A visitation will be held Wednesday Dec. 23, 2020 from 12:00 PM until 1;00 PM at Hough Funeral Home in Raymond, followed by a graveside service with full military rites at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in St Louis.
