BARBARA HUDSON Obituary

Barbara Ann (Buser) Hudson born November 27th, 1942 in Detroit, Michigan, passed away peacefully at Skagit Valley Hospital on Wednesday, April 13th, 2011, after a short but courageous battle with cancer. She was 68 years old.

Barb was born in Detroit and was raised in Grand Rapids, Michigan. She started her career at Michigan Bell while in high school and continued to work for the various Bell Companies until retiring in 1990.

Barb married Richard Buser in 1962. Barb and Richard lived in Arizona until his passing in 2004; at that time, Barb moved to Mount Vernon, to live with her youngest daughter, Kathy, and her family.

Barb became an active member at Immaculate Conception Church and volunteered in the front office. She also enjoyed exercising at the YMCA. Her day always started with a good cup of coffee and a crossword puzzle; she recently started crocheting and cooking again.

Barb married Walt Hudson in September of 2009. They made their home in Mount Vernon, and spent time traveling to Alaska, Arizona, and a train trip to Michigan and Canada. Barb never complained and always wanted to help in any way she could.

Barb is survived by her husband Walt; daughter, Sheri and her husband Curt of Phoenix, her son Rich and his wife Belynda, and his children Neil and Christina of Phoenix, and her daughter, Kathy, and her husband Michael, and their four children, Corey, Rebecca, Samuel and Matthew currently stationed in Japan; her sister Phyllis (Robert) Vodrey of Michigan; her brothers, Thomas, David and Daniel, all of Arizona and countless nieces and nephews that were special to her in Michigan.

Preceding her in death her were her parents, and her first husband, Richard.

The family would like to thank the staff at Skagit Valley Hospital for the exceptional care Barb received over the last month.

Memorials may be made to the Immaculate Conception New Church Building fund.

A wake will be held for Barbara Sunday, April 17, 2011, 7:00 pm at Hawthorne Funeral Home.

Viewing will be Monday, April 18, 2011, 11:15 am at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church followed by the Funeral Mass at 12:15 pm.
