Clinton Knapp Obituary
Clinton retired from the Air Force in 1972 after a 20 year career, which took him, his wife Janice and a growing family to live in Japan, Texas and Hawaii, before returning to his home state of Washington in 1972.
His numerous jobs after the Air Force included working for McDowell Volkswagon in west Mount Vernon. He always joked he was the oldest lot boy in captivity in Skagit County. He was a cook and deckhand for skipper Bill Beasner on the fish buyer COHO out of Anacortes before going to work at Skagit Steel / Bendix in Sedro Woolley, Bayliner Marine in Arlington, Conway School, and other numerous jobs around the county.
His biggest hobby was woodworking, everything from bird carving, birdhouses and furniture.
Clinton is preceded in death by his parents Frank Knapp and Wanda Goble, and his wife Carmen Knapp. He is survived by his sisters Nita Jungquist of Mount Vernon and Pat Beale of Anacortes, his four children Clinton Knapp(Debbie) of Decatur, Alabama, Tim Knapp of Bow, Wa., April Axthelm Bingham (Alan) of Eager, Arizona, Lisa Kennaugh (Rick) of Mount Vernon, Wa., 12 Grandkids and 21 Great grandkids.

I'm sorry to hear about Clinton. I enjoyed knowing him the years he lived out in Lake McMurray. Always had a smile,fun to talk with. He will be missed for sure. Thought and prayers are with all of his family. Rest in peace
