George Park Obituary

Anacortes - Our Dad, George E. Park (97), formally of Bremerton and now of Guemes Island, passed away on September 16th, 2021. He was born on March 27, 1924, in New Bedford, MA. He was a Quarter Master/Navigator serving on the USS Bunker Hill during WWII. George married Muriel Greene in 1948 and moved to the Pacific Northwest where they raised their family. Surviving family members include his brother Donald Park [Carla] of New Bedford, MA; three children Carol Park and Susan Gwost [Mike] of Guemes Island, WA, Russell Park [Linda] of Bremerton, WA; several nieces, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Donations can be made to the WA Old Time Fiddlers Assoc. (www.wotfa.org/contribute) or the Ronald McDonald House of Seattle (www.rmhcseattle.org/donate). A graveside service will be held October 16th at 10am at the Guemes Island Cemetery with a memorial celebration to follow at the Bayview Civic Center at 2:30pm.
