Howard Peterson Obituary

Mount Vernon - This is a revised obituary from the September 5th edition found in the Skagit Valley Herald.

Howard Lee Peterson, 98, of Mount Vernon, WA passed away at home on May 25, 2021 with his wife by his side. He was born on October 22, 1922 in Inwood Township, MI to Oscar and Hazel Peterson.

He was proud of his service during World War II as a tank driver in the European theater. After the war, Howard moved to Chicago where he was a graduate of a watch making school and earned a 2 year Gemology Degree.

Howard is survived by his wife of 10 years, Linda Peterson; sons, Steve Peterson, Randy Cole and Duane Cole; daughters, Luana Eggert, Julie Zanner and Amber Fleckenstein; and granddaughters, Sara Fassett and Ami McGuire.

Howard was honored as a World War II vet at the Skagit Vets Connect dedication ceremony and enjoyed meeting Robert M. Gates. He had a great wit and was loved and will be missed.
