Jane Strohecker Obituary

Jane Fields Strohecker passed away in Mt. Vernon on January 25, 2025. Born to Henry and Zella Fields in Walla Walla, WA on January 14, 1938, Jane attended the University of Idaho, where she was a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma, graduating in 1960 with a degree in Home Economics. After college, Jane lived in the Seattle area working as a public relations specialist in the food industry and as manager of the Women’s University Club, where she later served as chair of the Music Arts and Crafts Committee. After moving to Camano Island, Jane served multiple terms on the Island County Board of Equalization.

Jane was known as an exceptional hostess, cooking, and for her award-winning gardening skills. Over the years, Jane is remembered by friends as fun loving, creative, and thoughtful, always with an adored furry companion at her side. She was an avid bridge player and collected the folk art of Jane Wooster Scott. Jane is laid to rest in a niche at Mt. Vernon Cemetery alongside her husband of 45 years, Franklin Strohecker.
