John always had a genuine smile to share when we saw him, followed by his signature laugh.
I remember his love of Seattle sports teams, whether they were winning or losing. He loved his family and friends he thought of as family. I don't think anyone could have more loving and caring brothers than Jim and Charlie.
They supported John throughout his life in true Brister fashion. Leading with love, advice, comfort, and many laughs. We are so sad that John left us too soon. The entire Brister family is on our hearts.

John was a true best friend. He always had time to listen to you. Whether he thought you were right or wrong. He loved his family as well as the Seattle sport teams. May you rest in peace. You will always be remembered.

John defined what it means to be family. Whether he was gracing us with his quick wit, incredible faculty for sports trivia, or his infectious laugh, when he was with family, all was right in the world; for him and us. The depth of his love for family and friends knew no bounds. His example is to be cherished and remembered.
