LARRY SALDIVAR Obituary

August 9, 1959 - March 17, 2017

Larry went to be with his savior on March 17, 2017 after a year battle with cancer.

Not only did our family lose a husband, son, Dad, brother and uncle, the UW Huskies lost a big fan. Always clad in purple and gold, Larry loved Husky baseball (he trained to be a professional umpire at the prestigious Harry Wendlestedt Umpire School) and he football.

He also was known for his love of kids. He started his own family later in life but he was a devoted uncle to Jerimy, Dustin, Heather, Matt, Melissa, Jared and Haylee. He scraped all the money he had to his name to adopt his first child, Brooke. When asked why?, he said "I need her to know that I care". He was then blessed with five more children, Larry Jr, Lexi, Alex, Hayden and Thomas.

He spent countless evenings, Sundays and summers at His Place Church working with kids. Studio A on Wednesday nights was a family favorite.

Larry is survived by his wife, Stacie, who was the light of his life; his six children, his parents, Virginia and Manuel Sr of Sedro-Woolley; his 3 brothers and spouses, Manuel Jr. and Sheri of Mount Vernon, Rick and Karen, and Arthur all of Sedro-Woolley; his sister, Debra of Mount Vernon; mother-in-law, Margaret Walton of Idaho, as well as nephews, nieces and extended family.

In lieu of flowers consider donating to His Place Children's Church.

A potluck memorial service will be held at His Place Church in Burlington on March 28, 2017 at 1:00PM. The family requests that purple and gold be worn in his honor.

Larry was one of my good friends while attending Skagit Valley College. He would always put a smile on my face, tell me something positive, and leave with a laugh. We shared a common purple and gold passion. I hope the family can find comfort in the days to come. Larry would not want it any other way! Brett and Jude
