I met Matt working with him in food service, he was so energetic and patient with me as we got busy on the weekends, he took that challenge with stride and positively, he was generous, kind and caring. He gave the best hugs, always making my journey to work enjoyable, knowing I would be welcomed with a big smile and hug by Matt and his sister, I am a single mom with no family in the area and his positive and supportive attitude was encouraging. I always admired him for his parenting and enjoyed watching the time he dedicated to his beautiful daughters on Facebook as we kept in touch over the years. I miss Matt and I hope his family and daughter's will be able to hold his memory dear as they move forward knowing he is vigilantly watching over them. Many blessings and prayers for his family and friends.

There´s a quote I love about how people come in to our lives for a season, a reason, or a lifetime, and how we never really know what one someone might land in. Once I thought this man came in to my life for a small season of working together at a restaurant. Then years later another season. Then again years later for yet another season. As this pattern continued and the way him and I interacted constantly came back around, I began to realize there was much more to our friendship. As "outside of the box" it might´ve been, there was so much depth and connection in the small pockets of time we shared over the years. Then again he popped up, not in a specific season, but for a specific reason. And in no time at all, he was in my home helping me equip my family safe with an Adt security system. I had developed such a trust in him over the years so it was symbolic. We both shared experiences of single parenting and conversed many times about the struggles and woes of dating other people while working hard being the main provider for our kids. Looking back now I realize he has been in my life for over 20 years; a lifetime. My heart hurts for this loss.
Matt, you are such a wise soul. Thank you for being present in all the monumental transitions in my life and for connecting with me the only way I really knew how. Your encouraging words and support have never been unnoticed. I love you friend and will miss you greatly.

Matt was so kind. Beyond that he worked hard, kept a positive attitude and was the most amazing father. I´m so glad you found Jess because I know your daughters will be so loved and that´s exactly what he would want. I pray you are in heaven and have peace and watch over your amazing family.
