Patrick Erwin Park

1946 - 2021

Mount Vernon - Patrick Erwin Park passed away on October 28 at 75 years of age. He was born February 20, 1946, the son of John Erwin Park and Beth Margaret Brunson. He was raised in Seattle, graduating from Blanchet High School and Seattle University.

He had a long and varied career and liked to joke he retired three times. He was proud to have joined the King County Sheriff's Office shortly after his 21st birthday, becoming a detective, and working undercover for many years. He was a regional manager for the Washington State Division of Fraud Investigation. He finished his career developing security protocols as a senior investigator for Comcast.

Pat lived for many years on Whidbey Island. After his third and final retirement in 2012, Pat and his wife Patti moved to Bermuda Dunes, CA, where he enjoyed playing golf, completing home construction projects, and supporting Patti's work at the nonprofit Angel View.

Pat is survived by his wife, Patti Park, his children and their families; Christine (Ken, Ali, and Julie), Julie (Ben, Mia, and Anna), and Steve (Erica); and his sisters, Sharon and Mary. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Diane. He also leaves behind many other family members and friends who will miss him dearly.

Pat was extremely charismatic; he always had a smile on his face and a story to tell. His blue eyes, his smile, and a smart wardrobe were his trademarks. You could always tell a story was coming when those eyes started to twinkle.

During his battle with pancreatic cancer, Pat focused on the bright side ¬- appreciating the time he spent with family. He was surrounded by his family in the final weeks, days and moment of his life.

The family would like to thank Hospice of the Northwest and Skagit Regional Health, especially the outpatient infusion nurses for the care and support they provided. Memorials may be made in his name to Angel View in Cathedral City, CA or American Cancer Society.

Burial will be at Mount Vernon Cemetery, 1200 E Fir St, Mt Vernon, WA 98273, on Thursday, November 4 at 1 pm. A memorial service will be held at Assumption Church, 6201 33rd Ave NE, Seattle, WA 98115, on Friday, November 5 at 10 am.
