REX PETTIS Obituary

October 25, 1952 -
February 14, 2018

Our friend, husband, father, grandfather and teacher; Rex Allen Pettis, of Sedro-Woolley WA, passed away on February 14th, 2018.

Rex was born in Spokane, WA on October 25th, 1952. He attended school at Anacortes and lived his entire life here in the Skagit Valley.

Rex worked in the construction industry throughout his life, owning several businesses along the way.

He enjoyed spending time at home with his High School Sweetheart and wife of 49 years, Connie Pettis, where they lived and raised their family. Rex was also actively involved in his church playing the drums on the Worship Team. Rex had a contagious smile and outgoing personality that radiated from his soul. He did not always use "kid gloves" when teaching his lessons, but those lessons will continue to be taught for many generations to come. Rex Pettis had a heart of gold when it came to helping people with his time, talents and generosity.

Rex passed at home of natural causes, surrounded by, and on the mind of, all those who loved him.

Rex Allen Pettis is survived by his wife Connie Pettis; children - Larry Pettis, wife Denice Pettis, and Kari Barone, husband John Barone; grandchildren - Katee Allen, Luke Pettis, Kameree Hearn, Nathan Allen, Jacob Pettis and Samson Pettis; great- grandchildren - Isaiah Knapp and Nathen Allen Jr. and one more great-grandbaby on the way.

Rex was preceded in death by Larry Allen Pettis I - Dad; Norma Pettis - Mom; Beth Ann Pettis - daughter.

Flowers and memorial donations may be given to Northwest Christian Church in Sedro-Woolley under "Donations", care of Rex Pettis.

The Pettis, Allen, Barone, and Kearn families wish to thank the Prairie Fire Dept. along with Hospice NW and all those who have been so kind hearted, considerate, and generous with their time, gifts and condolences through these very difficult times.

The Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, February 24th at 2:00PM at the North Cascade Christian Church in Sedro-Woolley. Pastor Steve Fish will be officiating.

Arrangements are under the care of Hawthorne Funeral Home, Mount Vernon.
