ROBERT SHEPHERD Obituary

January 15, 1938 - June 29, 2016

Robert L. Shepherd, Sr. passed away on June 29, 2016 surrounded by his family. He was 78 years old.

Bob was born on January 15, 1938 to Wayne and Mae Shepherd in Silver Lake, Indiana where he lived with his three brothers, Curt, Donald, and Harold Dean, and one sister, JoAn.

He joined the United States Army in 1955 and after his tour of duty relocated to Vallejo, California, where he met and married his wife, Joyce. After the birth of their three children the family moved to Washington State, living in Mount Vernon, Bellingham, and Ferndale.

Bob was preceded in death by his wife, Joyce, in 2006.

Bob worked many years for Puget Sound Energy and after retirement thoroughly enjoyed his newfound freedom golfing, fishing, and working part-time with his son building homes.

In 2011 he married Linda Anderson and not long after was diagnosed with Parkinson's disease. He fought this disease valiantly to the end.

Bob is survived by his wife, Linda, his son Robert (Karla), son Doug, and daughter Tina (Jason) Jeffcoat as well as six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. He was a dedicated family man who loved his wife, children, and grandchildren very dearly.

What a privilege to be a greeter and in a men's group with Bob. He taught me a lot about overcoming my fears in communicating with others. My condolences to Linda and the kids.
