VIRGIL "ROSS" MICHAELS

1934 - 2007

Virgil Ross Michaels, better known as Ross Michaels was born in 1934 in Piedmont, South Dakota, and he entered into rest with his Lord and Saviour on August 25, 2007 with his loving family at his side, in Mount Vernon at the age of 73 years.

Ross was raised by his Uncle Charles and Aunt Bernice Grant. His Aunt Bernice survives him. Ross served his country in the United States Air Force from 1954 to 1959. Ross worked for 40 years as a Sewing machine technician and repairman; for the last 10 years for Boomers Sewing and Vacuum Center in Mount Vernon. Ross entered into marriage with Lillian C. Gibson on July 20, 1962; just celebrating their 45th wedding anniversary. Ross enjoyed fishing and boating.

Ross is survived by his family, loving wife and partner of 45 years, Lillian at the family home, loving sons Patrick Michaels and his wife Michele of Mount Vernon, Wayne Michaels and his wife Kimberly of Sturgis, South Dakota, Michael (Charles) Michaels of Laverne, Minnesota, beloved daughter Darla Michaels of Laverne, Minnesota, 9 grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews, and the many friends he made in his walk of life who will all miss him dearly. He was predeceased by his Uncle Charles, brothers Robert and Duane Michaels.

A Funeral Mass will be held for Ross on Tuesday, September 4, 2007 at 12:15 pm at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church on Division Street in Mount Vernon.
In lieu of floral tributes, Ross's family requests that Memorial in his name be made to Skagit Hospice or the American Cancer Society.
