Hello to all that knew and loved Walt, as a brother, father grandfather and friend. I knew Walt through stories and short visits, but i always remembered him gathering all of us into a circule and praying. I was alittle girl then but i remember looking up at him and seeing such a big strong man; with a wounderful smile and a beautiful rough voice. My heart goes out to all of you. God bless love leah.

Walter was a great father-in-law. I have lots of fond memories with Walter. Every time he called the house you could expect to conversation to start with the word of God. He loved to share scriptures with me and anyone else who would listen. He had scriptures highlighted, underlined and notes in the margins. He was firm in his beliefs and was a true warrior for God. He was also very kind, compassionate and always willing to help anyone in need. He came to visit Solin and I and the kids several times in CA. We have fond memories of his visits. On one visit in July it was 105 degrees and I asked Walter if wanted to jump in the pool to cool off. He was not a person to wear any kind of shorts but it was so hot that gave in. He jumped in the pool with me and he had a smile that I will never forget. He had a blast in the pool. He also loved music. He would sit at our piano or pick up the guitar and start his own jam session. Walter loved his six sons and six daughters very much. I considered it an honor and privilege to have been his son-in-law for the past 24 years. I will miss him a great deal but I am comforted knowing that he is now with our Lord and Savior.

To Rod & family!

Our prayers and thoughts are with you at this time of great sorrow.

Rod, You probably don't remember me but I worked at Skagit Lumber and you would stop in for materials. We used to visit. I've moved to Texas about 8 years after my husbands death. My girls and I have a family tradition we try to come back home every July visit there on the island...

I was so saddened to hear of Walt's death. It has been years since I've seen him or his girls, but our families shared good times! I never met the boys, but his daughter's & Vanessa were small maybe pre-school when we would all go out together. Walt & family lived in Birdsview and my husband, Harry Snell (deceased - 1971) and I would invite Walt & family to go to dinner at Shakey's Pizza or some fun place for the kids, usually in Seattle or in Bellingham! Walt would always sing his "Satchmo" and was always entertaining. We have great memories. We all had many good times together, and our girls went to school in Sedro Woolley High School.

Another memory I have of Walt & family, was the motorcycle club guys would meet at our house and go for a Sunday afternoon motorcycle ride. I can see Walt's smiling face as if it was yesterday! I had not seen him in years, but I know he will be missed in the community, a wonderful friend and father. Our prayers and sympathy are with you and the family at this time!
Warm Regards, The Snell Family, Barb & Vanessa

It has been many years since I have seen your dad or any of the family. However, many happy memories from many years ago of the special person he was and the times our families shared. May God embrace and carry you through this difficult time.

Mike and Amy - I will get a card off to you but this will have to do for now. I sure am sorry I didn't have an opportunity to know your Dad, Mike. After reading his obit. he sounded like a really neat guy.
