William Edwards Bounds

1944 - 2024

Burlington - William Edward Bounds, age 79, passed away at home on Tuesday, January 9, 2024 in Burlington, WA. He was born to William and Elma (Selin) Bounds in Seattle on August 31, 1944. He graduated from Burlington Edison High School in 1962. Following graduation, he lived with his father and stepmother Helen in California, working at William Bounds, LTD. designing, assembling, and selling salt and pepper mills at the family-owned business. Upon returning from two tours in Vietnam on the USS Conflict, he met and married June Lewis in 1969 in Lakewood, WA. Bill and June relocated to Mount Vernon, WA and worked with Bill's brother Stephen at their company, Alpine Fire and Safety, for many years. When Bill retired, he and June opened a fine art and custom framing business in Burlington. Bill and June enjoyed travelling in their truck and camper, especially visiting Shasta Lake and water skiing.

Bill is survived by his wife, June Bounds of Burlington, WA; daughter, Monica Bounds; son, Bill Bounds Jr.; grandchildren Jade Pfaefflin and Ashby Bounds. He is also survived by his mother, Elma Johnson; sister, Susan Dahl; and a brother, Stephen Bounds, and numerous nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by a sister, Joanna Bounds; and his father.

A celebration of the life of William Bounds is scheduled to begin at 3:00 PM, Monday, January 22, 2024 at Salem Lutheran Church, 2529 N. Laventure Rd., Mount Vernon, WA 98273.
