I do have fond memories of Dr Duncan. I worked with him for several years at United General hospital in Sedro Woolley, WA. I admired his knowledge and remember him saying, "always pick a younger urologist as the field is changing rapidly". I liked his innovation in developing a practice/flying to Alaska on a routine basis to treat "old gaffers" in need of prostate surgery. There is a special place in my heart for him as he delivered my last child in 1973. And he checked up on me every day I was in the hospital. I know that he was a difficult doctor with the nurses. He did not tolerate incompetence, but neither did I, maybe that was why we got along just fine. And I remember that he like beets. I would bring him some of my home canned ones. He will be remembered. I was staff nurse, supervisor, Director of nurses.

I first met Bill when I was in dental school at University of Oregon. My oldest son had a kidney problem and Bill was in residency at the medical school. I took my son to the med school and he was seen my Bill. Not only did he diagnose the kidney problem but noticed on the IVP that he had degeneration of the head of his femurs. They referred us to the Shriners hospital for the problem. My point is how many urology interns would have noticed that condition while looking for a kidney problem? Bill was an excellent physician and we were lucky to have him in our town.
