LINDA GREEN Obituary

LINDA GREEN 11/27/1945 - 10/23/2025 Linda Green, 79, formerly of Comfrey, died Thursday, October 23, 2025, at her home in New Ulm. Celebration of life will be from 3 - 8 p.m. Thursday, October 30, 2025, at Minnesota Valley Funeral Home South Chapel in New Ulm. A private family burial will be held in Faith Lutheran Cemetery in Comfrey. To leave an online condolence for the family or to sign the guestbook, please visit www.mvfh.org. Linda is survived by her daughters, Missy (Brian) Fitzpatrick, Angie Green; three grandchildren, Hannah (Chris) Wilson, Kathryn (Travis) Rubischko, and Jack Schroepfer; great-grandson, Isaiah; sisters-in-law, Carmen Gartner, Gean (Loren) Schumacher, Gwen (Kenny) Lang, and Gail (Gary) Lingbeek; and stepmother-in-law, Ella Green; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Gary Green; parents, Martin and Dorothy Gartner; parents-in-law, Warren and Helen Green; and brother, Robert "Bob" Gartner. Linda was born November 27, 1945, in Austin. She grew up on a farm near Waltham and graduated from Hayfield High School. After attending Mankato State College, Linda entered the work place. She married her husband of 31 years, Gary W. Green, privately on April 25, 1974, and again on May 11, 1974, with family and friends. The couple lived near Comfrey for 30 years and raised two girls, Missy and Angie Green. Together Gary and Linda owned and operated G&G Sales. Linda later worked 25 years at Sleepy Eye Stained Glass. Linda's love of color and design helped create glass panels for family and friends, as well as churches and customers worldwide. She was especially proud of four pieces located in London, England, and a transom in Washington State. Linda's other love was traveling. She took each of her grandkids on a European trip and many other trips with family and friends. Linda was especially fond of listening to and attending concerts of classical, opera, pop, and all other forms of music. As Linda's health began to fade, she provided clear instructions for her family: "If after a reasonable amount of time passes and I fail to ask for a margarita, lobster or crab legs, the TV remote, a bowl of ice cream, a cigarette, it should be presumed that I won't ever get better. When such determination is reached, I hereby instruct my appointed person and attending physicians to pull the plug, reel in the tubes, and call it a day. At this point, it is time to call my family and friends to raise their glasses to toast the good times we have had." Linda asks that we celebrate her life, not to be sad. She has a wonderful husband, beautiful children and grandchildren, and great friends. What more could a person ask for. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the Brown County Humane Society.
