Daniel Renal Obituary

Daniel Joseph Renal, born April 17, 1980, in Redwood City, passed away late in the evening on March 1 at the age of 44.
Daniel was a man of many talents-a true jack of all trades who excelled in sales, no matter what he was selling. His charisma, determination, and natural ability to connect with people made him successful in everything he pursued. He had a deep love for music and never passed up an opportunity for karaoke, where his energy and enthusiasm lit up the room. He was a fan of both metal and classic rock, with a special love for Slayer and The Beatles.

A lifelong resident of the Bay Area, Daniel attended Woodside High School and later studied at the College of San Mateo (CSM). He had a passion for adventure and enjoyed spending time outdoors. He loved fishing and playing horseshoes-both skills he proudly learned from his father-and all pastimes he joyfully enjoyed with his son, Daniel (Danny). He was also an avid pool player and bowler, always up for a friendly game and a good time with those he cared about.

Daniel was a true Bay Area sports fan through and through. He bled red and gold for his beloved San Francisco 49ers, cheered passionately for the Golden State Warriors, and was a dedicated San Francisco Giants fan. Some of his happiest moments were spent at baseball games, taking in the excitement of the ballpark with family and friends, giving fist bumps to all as he soaked in the energy of the crowd. He also had a deep love for horror movies and never missed a chance to watch a spooky thriller.
More than anything, Daniel was a devoted friend. He was someone you could always count on-loyal, nonjudgmental, and always ready to lend an ear or a helping hand. He had a way of making people feel welcome and valued, offering support, laughter, and kindness without hesitation. His presence brightened any room, and his friendships were lifelong.

Daniel was predeceased by his mother, Cathy McCauley (2018), and his father, Dennis Renal (2021). He is survived by his beloved son, Daniel Victor Renal; his brother, Matthew Renal; his sister, Erin O'Sullivan; his stepfather, Mike McCauley; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and loved ones who will forever cherish his memory.

A celebration of life will be held at Red Morton Park in Redwood City, the time will be announced at a later date.
Daniel will be deeply missed, but his spirit will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.

I´m really sorry to hear about Dan. I´ve known him since we were barely teens. I´m glad I got to spend some time with him a couple years ago. He definitely was a loyal friend, and a genuine and very passionate person. Always uniquely Dan. I know how much he loves his son and family, and I´m so sorry for your loss. I probably missed his celebration of life, but if not or if there´s ever anything I can do, please contact me. Lisa Hofeling 650-300-1577
