Gary Seller Obituary

Gary Francis Seller was born on July 24, 1942, to mother Lois and father Albert Seller, and was the younger sibling of Carol Seller. He grew up in Redwood City on the Alameda, across from what is now Woodside High School-then just a chrysanthemum field. His childhood home, a former roadhouse and stagecoach stop, reflected the deep roots his family held in the area, a connection to San Mateo County that is both unique and enduring. Gary has been a resident in the same San Carlos home for the past 58 years, where he passed away peacefully on September 17, 2025, at the age of 83.

Gary graduated from Sequoia High School in 1960. He continued his education at the College of San Mateo and San Francisco State University. In 1965, following the passing of his father, Gary stepped into his father's shoes and took over the family business - Atherton Appliance and Built-in Distributors on Middlefield Road in Redwood City. That same year, he married the love of his life, Angela Fahey, beginning a partnership full of joy which has lasted over 60 years.

For 46 years, Gary ran the business with integrity, warmth, and an unwavering commitment to his community. Known for his knowledge, generosity, and genuine kindness, Gary touched the lives of many customers and neighbors throughout the Peninsula.

Gary was a proud and loving father to Pamela (Denise) Holmes, and to Todd (Jeanie) Seller. He was also a cherished grandfather to Kirsten (Freddy) Bazaldua, Emily Holmes, and Killian Seller, and a joyful great-grandpapa to Trey Bazaldua. Nothing made him prouder than his family, and he often wore his favorite shirt that read: "My favorite people call me Papa." Gary's love extended to his many nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws, and cherished lifelong friends.

In addition to his love for family, Gary was a lifelong 49ers fan, an excellent fisherman, and the best vegetable gardener around. He was happiest with a fishing rod in hand or tending to his garden - especially proud of the tomatoes he grew each summer, which many said were the best they'd ever tasted.

Gary lived his life with a smile on his face, a laugh in his heart, and a deep love for his family. Whether hosting family gatherings, sharing stories, or simply enjoying time with loved ones, Gary's presence and laugh was a gift to all who knew him.

He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all whose lives he touched.
