Daniel Rachuy Obituary

Daniel James Rachuy
Daniel James Rachuy went home to his Lord on November 28, 2020. He was born April 2, 1965, in Sacramento, California. He graduated from Sonoma Valley High School in 1983 and studied at Saddleback College. At age 27 Daniel became a licensed general contractor, constructing and remodeling many homes in Napa, Marin, and Sonoma County.
Although he battled heart issues from the young age of 37, he never complained throughout his illness. Daniel faced each new obstacle with a positive and cheerful attitude, always with a smile on his face. He never lost his remarkable sense of humor or his standard response of, "I'm good!" His laughter was contagious.
Daniel was preceded in death by his older brother David. He is survived by his children, Brett and Brittney Rachuy; his parents, Don and Alfa Rachuy; and his sister, Marilynn Johnston –– all of Sonoma. His sister Susan and brother-in-law Bruce Stephenson; nieces Casey and Kendall; great nieces Brett, Collins, JoJo, and Winnie –– all of Ft. Worth, TX. Nephew Jacob Rachuy Stephenson of Long Beach, CA, and niece Claire Rachuy Powell of Lafayette, IN. Also, many good friends and extended family.
Dan enjoyed car races, restoring old cars, go-karting, searching garage sales for antiques, tending his garden, a great BBQ dinner, and especially leftovers!
A private memorial celebration and burial was held for Daniel at Faith Lutheran Church, officiated by Reverend Dr. Alan Piotter.
Daniel was dearly loved and will be missed by his family and friends. We are thankful for the gift of his life.
