HAMITER, David Alan June 23rd, 1954 - October 13th, 2018 In the first moments of October 13th, 2018, David Alan Hamiter left our world. He spent his last week surrounded by the people who loved him the most, his family, his cat, and close friends. David is survived by his three daughters, Rachel Buckley (Shawn), Jessica Hamiter, and Lucy Hamiter, two grandsons, Anthony Hamiter and Landen Buckley, two sisters, Lynne Dyer (Rick), and Laurel Daly (Glenn), and two nephews, Jared and Chase Hamiter.David, the son of Ralph (Ham), and Nancy Hamiter. Graduated from Sonoma Valley High School in 1972.David played SVHS Freshmen basketball, as well as Varsity basketball for two years and was part of the 1971 team when for the first time since 1966, the Dragons clinched the N.B.L. II Division Championship after winning the Arcata Tournament for the second year in a row. Dave loved the game and returned to Coach SVHS-JV and Varsity basketball in the mid '80s and again in the '90s. David loved the Sonoma Valley and lived most of his life in Sonoma. For the last 18 years, David lived in San Diego where he loved the ocean, its surf and almost daily sunshine. David loved all sports and was a lifelong Giants, Warriors, and 49er fan. A celebration of life is being planned in his hometown for a future date. David, you will be missed. 2-4-3
